As you know, my name is Bella Hu, and I’m an 18 year old self-taught portrait and lifestyle photographer based in southern New Hampshire and Stony Brook, Long Island! Although I’m currently studying Psychology at Stony Brook University, I’ve been contemplating on switching majors to business to pursue photography full time in the future. I have never been a fan of heavily edited photos, so my photography style is bright and colorful with natural lighting and minimal color distortion.
Something that stands about me is that I love getting my own photos taken. Like any other teenage girl, I know just how important the little things are — lighting, posing, angles, editing — all the details that come together to create the perfect photo. Art and fashion have always been incredibly important to me, giving me a good eye for aesthetics. If you need any genre of photo, from artsy to editorial to unconventional, I’m your girl!
I have a mountain of hobbies, but here are my main ones. I absolutely love music! I prefer the arts over athletics any day; I may hike occasionally, but you will never catch me playing a sport. I’ve played flute and violin for 9 years now, attending 4 years of All State and countless performances. I am currently in the Stony Brook Orchestra, though I am a former concert master of the Groton Hill Orchestra in MA and Upbeat Orchestra in NH.
I’m also a self-taught singer! Although I’ve never been in choir or taken vocal lessons, I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. What is music without completing the band, orchestra, choir trio?!
